Rockland — Local manager of Bangor Savings Bank Corey Belcher and Foundation representative Danielle Ahern recently presented Knox County Homeless Coalition with a grant to continue renovation work on a 24-by-24-foot barn on campus for use as a training and education center.

In the past year space has gotten tighter at KCHC with a 20 percent uptick in client traffic and the addition of case managers to handle the growing need. In response, KCHC, with the help of volunteers overseen by building experts from Midcoast Habitat for Humanity, began renovations on a small barn on the Rockport campus to create a space, away from the confidential spaces needed for critical emergency services, to provide group trainings and educational opportunities in an efficient manner.
