Holiday sing-along at Rockland library

Nov 29, 2012

Rockland — Everyone is invited to take a break from holiday preparations and celebrate the season with a sing-along Sunday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m. in the Reading Room of Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St.

Songs will be accompanied by pianist Sojourner Hodges and local banjo player Peter Proeller. Hodges of Camden, a pianist and composer originally from Tallahassee, Fla., is the music director at First Universalist Church in Rockland. The event will feature songs such as “Jingle Bell Rock,” “The Wassail Song,” “Silent Night” and “Jingle Bells.” Even those who are not singers are encouraged to come and enjoy a community afternoon and listen to favorite holiday music. Many singers will stand; those who wish to sit should bring a cushion as seating is limited. Lyric sheets will be provided and refreshments will be served.

This program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at 594-0310.
