Pictured is the steamer Camden in her first year of service, 1907. The Camden was built in Bath in 1907, and its sister ship, the Belfast, was built in 1909. The steamers were exceptionally long and narrow, designed for travel on the Penobscot River. "These fast triple-screw turbine-driven steamers were able to cut more than two hours from the Boston-to-Bangor schedule previously maintained by City of Bangor and City of Rockland," according to the authors of Eastern Steamships.
