“The steam yacht Lyndonia was 230 feet of beauty and opulence," wrote Fred Crockett. Built of steel and originally powered by steam before upgrading to diesel, the Lyndoniawas the yacht of Cyrus H.K. Curtis.

"I well remember the summer of 1920," said Crockett, "when she steamed into Camden Harbor with all flags flying. I was only nine then, but it made such an impression on me that I have carried the love of yachts ever since." The Lyndoniawas in service in the Navy when it went down in a typhoon in the South Pacific in 1945.
