Hilt reception during ArtWalk Waldoboro

Waldoboro — The nonprofit Medomak Arts, 13 Friendship St./Route 220 in the village, will hold a Waldoboro ArtWalk reception for its new exhibition of paintings and pastels by Sandra C. Hilt during ArtWalk Waldoboro — Saturday, Aug. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Hilt’s formal art training began in Japan, where she spent many years studying with noted artist Shinjiri Nakamura. A native of Union, she now spends half the year in Florida and her summers along the Maine coast. She has traveled extensively to paint and has studied with artists Donald Demers, Bob Rohm, Hong Nian Zhang, Gail Sauter, Ned Mueller, Kim English and Colin Page. Her award-winning work has been represented at the Art of the Sea Gallery in South Thomaston.

Medomak Arts fosters imagination and creativity for all members of the Medomak region by providing arts education, celebration and promotion.
