Hebert brothers excel for Camden Hills at league meet

Sam Hebert earns two thirds, fifth at talent-laden KVAC championships

Brunswick — Brothers Sam and Aidan Hebert, independent athletes from Camden Hills Regional High School, competed in the Class A portion of the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference indoor track championships on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Bowdoin College.

The Windjammer siblings performed well, as Sam Hebert pushed the competition to the limit with three top-five performances.

The girls team scores were: Messalonskee of Oakland 119.5, Edward Little of Auburn 104.5, Mount Ararat of Topsham 75.5, Brunswick 58, Lewiston 53, Cony of Augusta 36, Oxford Hills of South Paris 19 and Skowhegan 6.5.

The boys team scores were: Brunswick 189, Lewiston 92, Mount Ararat 75, Messalonskee 49, Edward Little 47, Camden Hills 15 and Skowhegan 2.

Next up for those who qualify are the state Class A championships, slated for Monday, Feb. 18 at noon at the University of Southern Maine in Gorham.

The individual league meet results for the Windjammers were:

55 meters — 22, Aidan Hebert, 7.6.

Long jump — 5, Sam Hebert, 18-9.

Triple jump — 3, Sam Hebert, 38-7.75.

High jump — 3, Sam Hebert, 5-10; and 8, Aidan Hebert, 5-2.
