Waldoboro — On Friday, June 15, the Waldoboro Word of Life Church on Old Route 1 will welcome back Heaven’s Blend for a gospel concert. The concert will begin at 7 p.m., but everyone is invited to bring some food to share and join in the potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. The concert is free, but a goodwill offering will be taken.

This popular local gospel music group was formed in 2000 as a quartet and has gone through a number of configurations before landing at the current lineup of Craig and Naomi Tuck; and founders Tom Rawley and Gary Leet; and Tim Connelly. Except for Craig Tuck, who has composed a number of their songs and plays guitar and bass, all are vocalists.

Rawley, a Waldoboro native, has been the senior pastor of the Waldoboro Word of Life Church for more than 30 years and also is the chaplain of the Waldoboro Fire Department. Leet is the senior pastor of the Lisbon Free Baptist Church, as well as founder and teacher of Life-changing Faith Bible Center; his musical background is rock drumming. Connelly is a worship leader at the Waldoboro Word of Life Church and also sings in many local churches as Just Tim. Craig Tuck has served as the Youth Pastor at the West Harpswell Baptist Church; his wife Naomi is a teacher, when not caring for their new baby or singing with the group.
