Rockland — The Monday Night Blues series continues Aug. 14 with Vanessa Collier, playing 7 p.m. in the upstairs music room of Time Out Pub, 275 Main St. Admission will be $10 at the door.

Saxophonist, songwriter and vocalist Vanessa Collier, a 2017 Blues Music Award nominee, is currently on an 11-country European tour, alternating between tour legs in Europe and playing the United States, with a talented five-piece band. With searing saxophone solos, soulful vocals, and witty lyrics, the Berklee College of Music grad takes listener through an engaging blend of blues, funk, rock and soul, delivered via an entertaining, high-energy performance.

Collier lit up stages as part of Joe Louis Walker’s band before releasing her 2014 debut album. Her latest is this year’s “Meeting My Shadow.”

Upcoming in the weekly series are: Aug. 21, Tas Cru & His Band of Tortured Souls ($10); Aug. 28, double-artist show by Johnny Rawls and Selwyn Birchwood bands ($20, starts 6 p.m.); and, Sept. 11, Bridget Kelly Band ($10). Note there is no show on Labor Day, but the performances from this year’s blues festival will be broadcast the Saturday and Sunday of the holiday weekend starting at 6 p.m. on Maine’s KISS-FM stations.
