Head of Lincoln library foundation to speak Sept. 22

Dr. Carla Knorowski speaks to the Waldoborough Historical Society Sept. 22.

Waldoboro — Dr. Carla Knorowski will be the Waldoborough Historical Society’s guest speaker Sept. 22 at 6:45 p.m. at Broad Bay Church UCC, 941 Main St. She will speak in the sanctuary after a potluck supper at 5:30 in the Vestry; bring a covered dish or salad to share; beverage, utensils and dessert will be provided.

This is the final special presentation of the society’s 50th anniversary year celebration. All are welcome to the presentation; there is no charge. Knorowski's books will be available for purchase and signing following the program.

Knoronowski  is the executive officer of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation, where she has served  since 2011.  She is the co-author with James Cornelius of the book "Under Lincoln’s Hat: 100 Objects That Tell the Story of His Life and Legacy" (Lyons Press, 2016). Her work also is featured in "Lincoln: An Intimate Portrait" (Life Books, 2014) and Celebrated Living magazine.

She has a regular column in Four Score and Seven, the official magazine of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation. Additionally, Knorowski has appeared on PBS affiliates and C-Span. She is a board member of the Society of Midland Authors, a trustee of the Naval War College, and a member of the Co-Designing the Future of the Lincoln Memorial Committee.
