“Tutor” is a new sculpture” by Philippe Guillerm, carved of driftwood from the Bahamas.

Waldoboro — Philippe Guillerm Gallery, 882 Main St. commemorates its fifth year during an ArtWalk Waldoboro opening Saturday, July 14, from 4 to 7 p.m.

An exhibition of sculptures and paintings by French artist Philippe Guillerm, “In Sync With Nature” celebrates the beauty and creativity of nature via flowing driftwood transformed into music instruments and human bodies; and paintings depicting nature's colors and shades.

After five months of complete immersion into the world of islands and sailing, Guillerm has returned to his gallery with driftwood sculptures, paintings and architectural restoration and decoration details. He is greatly influenced by his sailing life. His paintings combine the warm colors of the Caribbean and underwater views including World of Silence acrylics and From the Sea pen and ink drawings.

As always, Guillerm’s sense of humor enlivens his work. The gallery is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 701-9085; email philippeguillermgallery@gmail.com; or visit guillermsculptures.com.
