Waldoboro’s Philippe Guillerm share his ocean-inspired inks on paper, as well as his musical instrument sculptures, during ArtWalk Waldoboro.

Waldoboro — Philippe Guillerm Gallery, 882 Main St., unveils “From Our Sea” during the Saturday, Aug. 12, ArtWalk Waldoboro, from 4 to 7 p.m.

“From Our Sea,” Philippe Guillerm’s collection of inks on paper, offer a vision of the wonderful world of traveling and discovering the marvelous ocean. Guillerm has sailed the sea since he was 20; in recent years, the oceans have spurred him on to a quest of preservation.

Guillerm is known for his violins and cellos carved from found driftwood and mixed with real music instruments. Lesser known are his paintings and drawings that further express his artistic involvement with the sea world. This exhibition brings together a series of ink drawings and driftwood sculptures.
