Rockland — Georges River Land Trust will host a boating adventure on the middle section of the Georges River in Warren Saturday, July 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interested persons should bring their own boat, paddles, lifejackets, lunch, water, bathing suit and binoculars, and meet at 2383 Western Road in Warren. All are welcome, and the event is free of charge.

Canoeists and kayakers will be led on an exploration of the undeveloped portion of the river south from White Oak Pond in Warren to the Middle Road bridge and back. The water here is calm, and the shoreline is close enough to offer opportunities for diverse wildlife sightings. It is not uncommon to see eagles, turtles, heron and sometimes beaver.

The Land Trust has a few canoes and equipment available for those who do not have their own. Contact info@grlt.org or call 594-5166 to reserve a spot.
