Guest artist opens Port Clyde Art Gallery

"Our Rocky Shore” by Carol Wiley is part of her season-opening show at Port Clyde Art Gallery.

Port Clyde — Carol Wiley of Jefferson will be showing her work at the Port Clyde Art Gallery, 5 Cold Storage Road, from Wednesday, June 21, through July 10. A reception to meet and greet the artist will be held Friday, June 23, from 5 to 7 p.m.

All are welcome to come and see Wiley’s work, as well as that of the gallery’s 12 permanent artist-members. Other artists represented are Angela Anderson, Lydia Kaeyer, Carmella Yager, Gillian Sloat, Gena Neilson, Jan Dearborn, Marianne Swittlinger, Bill Swittlinger, Gayle Bedigian, Rick Bernard, DiTa Ondek and Doug Anderson. The gallery will also be showing work by the late local art legend Robert Hamilton.

Port Clyde Art Gallery is located at the end of Route 131 in Port Clyde Village; look for the red barn, across from the general store. Hours are Wednesdays through Mondays from noon to 6 p.m.

Wiley will be working on a new painting outside the gallery Saturday, July 8, during regular hours. Everyone is invited to come over, watch an artist at work and see a beautiful new painting emerge.
