Group provides signs for Black Lives Matter movement

Jul 20, 2020

"The first round of Black Lives Matter yard sign distribution in the Midcoast was about 150 signs," said Becca Shaw Glaser. "But due to continuing interest, we have started a second round."

A group in the area is providing black-and-white two-sided signs that were locally printed and can be used in windows as well as yards.

"They will be distributed via contact-less drop-off in Midcoast Maine within reasonable distance of Rockland once we have enough to place an order," she said. "They are a pay-what-you-can sliding-scale price (including free) to make it as financially accessible as possible."

Some members of the Black community emphasized to CBS News that the phrase "Black Lives Matter" does not mean "Black lives matter more." It means, "Black lives matter, as well." And some of the hurtful confusion could very well stem from a fundamental misunderstanding of that.

For lifestyle blogger Ayana Lage, whether the phrase is posted with ill intentions or good ones, the effect is the same. It derails the conversation. *written by Ayana Lage.

But where does the $ go?

WHY?  because the focus needs to be on this matter right now where this is upset, emotions and violence.
