Goose River Bridge flower boxes prohibited

Jul 09, 2018
The Rockport Garden Club will no longer be placing flower boxes on Goose River Bridge.

Rockport — The Rockport Garden Club has announced that flower boxes, which, in years past, have decorated the Rockport Goose River Bridge, will not be seen this year, as the Maine Department of Transportation has determined the boxes are a safety hazard.

The club members’ town beautification work can still be seen in the flower and shrub areas of Harbor Park, Rockport Opera House, Mary Lea Park, Memorial Park, Weidman Triangle and the Rockport Post Office, Aldermere Farm, the Arch and the West Rockport Post Office along with the area around Andre the Seal.
