Rockland — Co-General Managers of Good Tern Natural Foods Store and Co-op, Laura LaPointe and Brandy Monroe, announced the Rockland store continues opening up with rules in place to safeguard the health of both customers and employees. The new operating hours are designed to serve those who wish to shop in-store as well as customers preferring curbside pick-up or delivery.

“We’ve worked hard to equip the Good Tern to follow Maine State requirements for customers as well as strict hygiene to make sure everyone is safe. And we’re offering flexible options to serve all of our customers,” said LaPointe.

For in-store shoppers, the new hours are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The number of shoppers in the store is limited to five at any one time, and all shoppers must wear face coverings.

Shoppers must take a cart at the door; this system maintains the limit of five customers at one time. Shopping carts are sterilized after every use and help the staff keep track of the number of shoppers in the store.

Curbside ordering is offered from 8 am to noon, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. For curbside, customers need to call and place their order by 11 a.m. and plan to pick it up by noon the same day.

Hole in the Wall Bagels, at 754 N. Main St., is open now seven days a week for in-store, phone orders and curbside pick-up, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Customers are asked to call 594-3600. The full menu is available on Facebook.

LaPointe noted, “We’ve got the same great fresh bagels and other local bakery items, local meats and cheeses, craft beers, organic wines, and gluten-free and vegan options our customers love. Prepared foods are back, and the grab-and-go cooler is full, and new items are added all the time. Please keep in touch!”

Good Tern Produce Buyer, Heather Hynd, added, “We source our produce from fifty Maine farmers. Thanks to them we have a robust supply chain with a large variety of delicious, fresh, organic produce, which will increase as we get into the summer season.”

The Good Tern Co-op is located at 750 Main St. For more information call 594-8822 or visit the Good Tern Facebook page.

The Good Tern is a member-owned community food co-op, founded in 1980 and specializing in local, organic, dietary sensitive foods and products at affordable prices.

All are welcome to shop. Members are owners of the store, with equal voting rights over leadership and decisions and are eligible for working discounts and other benefits. Profits are returned to the membership in discounts and to the community in education.
