Waldoboro — The Waldo Theatre presents the next in its series of virtual concert performances Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m. The Gawlers, a fun-loving, folk-singing, fiddle-playing family from Maine, broadcast live in real-time from The Waldo stage.

The show features Ellen Gawler and her three daughters Molly, Edith, and Elsie. The Gawler Sisters and their mom bring a unique sound full of heart, toe-tapping fiddle and banjo tunes, and songs traditional, original and full of joy.

“They are the charming pied pipers of music in Maine, sharing music and stories that are enamored by all. It’s fun to try to keep up with them as they busy about as performing artists, circus artists, home builders, homesteaders, teachers, travelers, mariners, farmers, designers and on and on and on... singing all the while,” said Melinda Curtis.

Recent virtual concerts from The Waldo have attracted audiences from close to 200 households and reached fans in more than 20 states. Since the theater is not yet open to the public, there will be no audience in the theatre. The performance will be captured in real-time by a technical “stream team” with the use of a new three-camera video system.

Ticket buyers can watch the event live in real-time via a YouTube link, and/or watch an archived recording later for up to one week. Tickets are $15 for one person or $20 for multiple viewers. A YouTube link will be sent to ticket-buyers on the day of the concert. Visit waldotheatre.org/pages/events for tickets and more information.
