Gather to catch up with classic reads

Sep 24, 2017

Rockland — Catching up with the Classics, Rockland Library's new book club, is a chance to read some classics that might have been missed or revisit them. Mary Ann Giasson, part-time library employee and lifelong lover of literature, will facilitate the group.

Participants will have a chance to explore and perhaps broaden their definition of “a classic,” read both fiction and non-fiction classics and branch out to modern classics, as well.

The group will discuss a different title each month. The first is John Steinbeck’s “Grapes of Wrath” Saturday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. The title for the Nov. 18 meeting is the modern non-fiction classic “Three Cups of Tea” by Greg Mortensen. Future titles will be selected by the group.

Rockland Public Library is located at 80 Union St. For more information, call 594-0310.
