Garden columnist recognized by GardenComm

Lynette Walther, whose column, Good Seasons, appears in Courier Publications newspapers, won a Gold Medal of Achievement from GardenComm.

Lynette L. Walther received the 2019 Media Awards Gold Medal of Achievement for her magazine feature, “The End of an Era? The state of citrus in the citrus state,“ presented by GardenComm: Garden Communicators International.

This national award recognizes individuals and companies who achieve the highest levels of talent and professionalism in garden communications. The 2019 competition featured more than 50 categories in the areas of writing, photography, digital media, broadcast media, publishing, speaking and trade. The award recipients were announced Saturday, Sept. 7, at the 2019 GardenComm Awards & Honors Dinner.

Since the early 1980s, the GardenComm Media Awards program has recognized many outstanding works focused on gardening. In recent years, the awards program has expanded to include on-air talent, production and direction for radio, television, video, Internet and other electronic media.
