Garden club to begin its year with talk on ticks April 24

Apr 12, 2018

Waldoboro — The Waldoboro Community Garden Club will hold its first program of the year April 24 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Broad Bay Congregational Church, 941 Main St.

The evening starts with a potluck supper. Guests should bring a main dish, salad or dessert to share and their own place setting. A short business meeting will follow the meal at 6:30. Then, at 7, Paula Jackson Jones will talk about preventing tick-borne disease, how to identify ticks and sources for further information.

Other programs planned for this year include a plant swap, a program on daylilies and a garden and farm tour.

Volunteers are needed now to work on the Town Office gardens and at other locations. For more information, call President Penelope Crane at 832-7699.
