Gallery tour of Farnsworth’s ‘Mountain’

Rockland — The Farnsworth Art Museum will present a gallery tour of “On a Mountain in Maine” Wednesday, July 25. Led by a member of the museum’s curatorial team, the tour is set for 1:30 p.m., beginning from the downtown museum’s main lobby.

“On a Mountain in Maine,” primarily drawn from the museum’s collection, features works by Fitz Henry Lane, John Joseph Enneking, Marsden Hartley, James Fitzgerald, Andrew Winter and Carl Sprinchorn. The tour will explore the physical, spiritual and cultural landscape of Maine’s mountains as depicted in paintings, poetry and literature through the lens of the historical record and Wabanaki myth and legend.

I am sorry but this is not art unless the definition of "ART" has changed over the years.
