Rockport — Rockport Public Library, 1 Limerock St., will offer music, workshops and games Monday, Dec. 31. Everyone is invited to come in and have a cup of hot cider and a cookie while learning from and listening to local musicians.

The schedule of events will begin with a 10 to 11:30 a.m. ukulele workshop and performance. Local singer/songwriter Alice Limoges welcomes parents and children to learn the fun of playing the ukulele and will show parents some ways to help children get interested in music. Attendees may bring a ukulele or just come and listen and enjoy the fun.

From 1 to 3 p.m., the library will have tables set up for board game fun. Games will include “Yahtzee,” “Bug-opoly,” “Sorry,” chess, “Scrabble” and “Maine Monopoly.” Attendees can learn a new game or play one of their favorites, choosing a game from the library’s collection or bringing one from home to share.

From 3 to 4 p.m., folk singer and songwriter Resa Randolph and family will provide a performance of her songs and arrangements at the library. Randolph’s style of music ranges from bluegrass, traditional folk, jazz and blues; and showcases guitar and banjo.

The day will conclude with a 4 to 5:30 p.m. guitar workshop. Guitarist, teacher and performer Martin Gibson is offering a demonstration workshop and performance covering a variety of guitar styles.

The library requests registering for one or more of the workshops by calling or email so it can get an idea of how many people will be participating. All events are free.
