Camden — The Friends of Music Concert Series, an outreach program of the First Congregational Church of Camden, will present an afternoon of beautiful music in the church sanctuary, 55 Elm St./Route 1, Sunday, Sept. 16, at 4 p.m.

Duo Yumeno is the music of koto/shamisen player and singer Yoko Reikano Kimura and cellist Hikaru Tamaki. Together, they offer a unique fusion of sound that explores both traditional Japanese and western classical music. Their performances have been enthusiastically received in Tokyo, Kyoto, Istanbul, New York, Chicago and throughout the Midwest.

In 2014, Duo Yumeno was awarded the Chamber Music America Classical Commissioning Program grant and in 2015, it received the Aoyama Baroque Saal Award. The duo’s first CD, "Flowers, Birds, Wind, Moon," was released in May 2015.

As always, each Friends of Music concert is free and open to the public, although donations to sustain the program will be cheerfully accepted at the door. For more information, call 236-4821.
