Free workshop at Maine Authors

Thomaston — Jane Karker, owner and president of Maine Authors Publishing & Cooperative, will present a free workshop on The Gradual Yes Method (sales for authors) Saturday, April 21, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Maine Authors, 12 High St.

Participants will learn where and how to market their independently published books for the best sales results. Ideas for marketing, building an author platform, building relationships with bookstores and using social media, as well as how networking with other authors can drive better sales, will be covered.

Karker had more than 15 years of experience in corporate printing sales before beginning her decade-long career in publishing and book marketing. She is a frequent presenter at events and in the media throughout New England including The Boston Globe, MPBN, WERU, Grub Street, the Boston Public Library and the International Women’s Writing Guild.

This class is for published authors, as well as writers who have not yet published. Attendees will receive live links for internet marketing, as well as a digital workbook to list, schedule and implement their marketing tasks.
