Free rabies shots available Dec. 2

Nov 26, 2017

Lincolnville — Waldo County Humane Society is holding a free rabies clinic Saturday, Dec. 2, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Lincolnville Fire Station. This is the second-to-last free rabies clinic this season.

Dr. Chris Tomalty of Little River Veterinary Hospital in Belfast will administer the shots, which are free for pet owners who live in Waldo County. Those who live outside the county are welcome and will be charged $7 per shot.

Pets should be on a leash or in a carrier. Owners should bring proof of a previous rabies shot so their pet can receive a three-year rabies certificate.

In addition to rabies shots, coupons that offer discounts toward the cost of having pets spayed or neutered will be available.

The final clinic this season is set for Saturday, Jan. 6, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Leroy Smith School in Winterport with Dr. Rachael Emerson of Ridge Runner Veterinary Services.
