Free College Planning for Adults

Maine Educational Opportunity Center hosts free individualized sessions, Essentials of College Planning, for adults 19 and older who are looking for a new career or returning to higher education.

Virtual sessions are being held Tuesdays, May 18 and 25 at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.; Wednesdays, June 2 and 9, at 9, 10 and 11 a.m.; Monday, June 7, at 10 and 11 a.m.; Tuesday, June 8, at 9 and 11 a.m.; Tuesdays, June 15 and 22, and Wednesdays, June 16 and 23, at 9, 10 and 11 a.m.

In-person meetings at Rockland UMA Center, 91 Camden St., are being held on Mondays, May 17 and 24 at 9, 10 and 11 a.m., noon, and 1, 2 and 3 p.m.; Tuesday, June 7, at 9, 10 and 11 a.m., noon, and 1, 2 and 3 p.m.; and Mondays, June 14 and 21, at 9, 10 and 11 a.m., noon, and 1, 2 and 3 p.m.

MEOC is funded entirely by the U.S. Department of Education. The program helps qualified adults make the transition toward a new career and relevant educational credentials. We provide individualized assistance in career planning, stackable credentials, completion of FAFSA, rehabilitation of defaulted loans, and finding the appropriate funding for your education.

• Applying for Financial aid

• Assisting in college application completion

• Application fee waivers for qualified adults

• Scholarship application completion, and

• Help you develop a plan for your new future!
