Free admission at Owls Head museum

Dec 21, 2012

Owls Head — In the spirit of the season, the Owls Head Transportation Museum has announced it will offer free admission to the general public from Dec. 20 through Dec. 31.

The open house is an opportunity for the museum to acknowledge the support and friendship of the greater community.

"As we celebrate the holidays, we also want to celebrate our community," said museum Director Charles Chiarchiaro. "Without the support of individuals, families, businesses and volunteers, there simply wouldn't be a museum."

During the open house, families and their guests are invited to visit the museum at no charge. The museum will be open every day, except Christmas Day and New Year's Day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to its collection of antique cars, planes, motorcycles and engines, visitors will enjoy the feature exhibition, MGs & Microcars, showcasing cars from the 1930s through the 1950s. The museum store will be open and information on the 2013 event season will be available.

The Owls Head Transportation Museum is located at 117 Museum St. For information call 207-594-4418 or visit
