Port Clyde — Frederick H. Lord passed away Feb. 11, 2021, after a period of declining health.

He was a lifelong mariner, having fished for over 70 years. He also served as the mate on the Ruth M, the Port Clyde pilot boat with Capt. Allison Wilson. Two years ago at age 91, Fred hauled his final trap.

Shortly after WWII, Fred served in the Coast Guard and was proud to be chosen to attend radar training at the Naval Base in San Diego, Calif.

He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Mary.

He is survived and much loved by his son Alan and his wife, Rebecca; grandchildren Sarah Joyce and her husband, Brendan, James Lord and his wife, Rachel, Scott Lord and his wife, Sheena, and Emily Day and her husband, Peter. Fred's seven great-grandchildren were fortunate to know and love their Great-Grampy. His youngest took her first steps at his house last year.

In accordance with his wishes there will be no service.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring to honor his memory could send a donation to Pope Memorial Animal Shelter, P.O. box 1294, Rockland ME 04841.
