Four seek seats on Rockport Select Board

Rockport — Four Rockport residents have returned nomination papers for seats on the select board. There are three seats available: two of these are for three-year terms, and the third is for a one-year term.

Debra Hall, Jeffrey Hamilton and John Alexander are vying for the three-year seats. Alexander has previously served on the planning board, and his term as chairman on that committee will expire in June.

Ken McKinley has returned papers and will be running unopposed for the one-year seat on the select board. McKinley currently serves as the chairman of the select board. The one- year term is the remainder of a seat previously held by Brendan Riordan and Tom Gray, who both resigned.

Helen Shaw is running unopposed for one of three available seats on the library committee. Each seat is for a three-year term. Shaw is also running unopposed for one of three seats on the budget committee. The term of these seats is also three years.

Marcia Dietrich is running unopposed to serve concurrently on the SAD 28 and Five Town CSD School Boards for an additional three years. Carole Gartley is running unopposed to serve a one-year term on the school board.

Applications were due April 13. Voting will take place Tuesday, June 12 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Richardson Room of the town office. The Rockport Town Office is located at 101 Main Street.
