Fly fishing film fest tickets on sale

Rockland — Georges River Trout Unlimited will host the International Fly Fishing Film Festival (IF4) Thursday night, April 25, at the Strand Theatre, 345 Main St. IF4 comprises short and feature length films produced by professional filmmakers from all corners of the globe, showcasing the passion, lifestyle and culture of fly fishing.

The films at this popular event contain exclusive content not shown anywhere else in Maine. It is a must- see experience for fly fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts alike. The event will be emceed by up-and-coming professional fly fishing adventurer Chandler Crans (Camden Hills grad 2014) to make for an even more special evening.

There will be a Spinner-Fall Pre-Show Party to kick things off at 5 p.m. at the Strand.  Spinner-Fall Pre-Show Party tickets are $35 and include event admission, reserved priority seating, heavy hors d’oeuvres catered by Green Bean Catering, door prizes and more. General admission doors for the IF4 screening will open at 6:30 p.m. and the films start rolling at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $12, $8 for students.

Drinks will be available for purchase between 5 and 8:30 p.m. (sold by the Strand). A raffle will be held with great prizes including an ECHO Fly Rod, Patagonia Pack and AirFlo Fly line. Raffle tickets are $5, three for $10 or seven for $20 and can be purchased at the event or from any GRTU board member.

Film fest and Spinner-Fall Pre-Show Party tickets are on sale now at flyfilmfest.com or can be purchased locally at Maine Sport Outfitters in Rockport (fishing department).  Tickets also will be available for purchase at GRTU’s program table during all three BANFF Film Festival shows Feb. 8, 9 and 10; and at all upcoming GRTU meetings.
