First ‘Ralph’ for family movie night

“Wreck-It Ralph” features an unlikely hero.

Thomaston — Since “Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet” opens soon in theaters, Thomaston Public Library will screen “Wreck-It Ralph” (2012, USA) for its monthly free movie and pizza night for families Monday, Nov. 19, at 5 p.m.

The local Flagship Cinemas will provide popcorn for the library event and also give away two tickets to the new movie, which opens there Nov. 21, as door prizes.

Video game bad guy with a heart Wreck-It Ralph longs to be as beloved as his game's perfect good guy, Fix-It Felix. Problem is, people love heroes, not villains. Ralph sneaks into another game as his ticket to heroism and happiness … but the result is disaster.

The animated film features the voice talents of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, Alan Tudyk, Mindy Kaling and more. It will be shown with closed captions for the deaf and hard of hearing. As always, this event is free and open to all, and pajamas are welcome. The library is in the Thomaston Academy building, 60 Union St./Route 1.
