Financial resources for adult learners

Camden — Yes, You Can Go Back to School: Financial Resources for Adult Learners will be offered by educator Linda Buckmaster of Women, Work and Community at the Camden Public Library Thursday, Jan. 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The program is free and open to adults of all ages and backgrounds.

This workshop will help participants learn about financial options for education and identify the steps needed to take. Learn how to apply for federal financial aid and learn how to wisely use student loans.

Also discussed will be the special Family Development Account (FDA) Matched Savings program for qualified Knox County residents over age 18. The program allows participants who meet the guidelines to contribute up to $1,000 of their own money, which will matched $4 to each $1 saved, for school expenses. The Knox County Education FDA is a collaboration among the Maine Family Development Account Coalition, the Worthington Family Foundation, and Women, Work and Community.
