Film and Lecture Series opens

Mar 12, 2014
Richard Rorty is among the contributors to “American Philosopher,” an interview film about philosophy in America with a focus on American Pragmatism.

Camden — The Camden Philosophical Society will present the first installment of its Film and Lecture Series Tuesday, March 25, at 7 p.m. in the Picker Room of Camden Public Library, Atlantic Avenue.

The group will screen “American Philosopher: The Film” by Phillip McReynolds. McReynolds’ web series comprises eight short films about philosophy in America and American philosophy, exploring such questions as what is the status of philosophy in a nation founded by philosophers; what are the risks of practicing philosophy in America; and does America have a "native" philosophy?

Everyone is invited to join the Camden Philosophical Society for this free public screening and lively discussion. For more information, email
