Felting festive foliage in Farnsworth workshop

Oct 11, 2019

ROCKLAND — On Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to noon, the Farnsworth Art Museum will hold a class entitled "Felting Festive Foliage Workshop." The program will take place at the museum’s Gamble Education Center at the corner of Union and Grace Streets. It will be led by artist Kathleen Gass.

Celebrate the vibrant colors of fall. Craft felted colorful leaves into pins, embellishments for scarves, or even autumnal crowns. In this workshop, you’ll learn needle-felting and blend handwork techniques of embroidery and beadwork to create one-of-a-kind felted art. All materials will be provided.

Instructor Kathleen Gass studied drawing and fiber arts at the State University of New York and has studied creativity at the University of Maine. She has been an art educator for more than 30 years and currently teaches in the Belfast Public School system’s gifted & talented program.

Fee $50, $42 museum members. For more information or to register, visit farnsworthmuseum.org.
