‘Far Out’ ski film on opera house screen

Tahoe’s Elyse Saugstad traveled to Slovenia’s Julian Mountains to chase some of the biggest storms of the 2017-18 season.

Camden — The “Far Out” Teton Gravity Research film tour will bring the new ski adventure film to the downtown Camden Opera House for a one-time screening Saturday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m.

“Far Out” follows the TGR crew on one of its boldest missions ever, revealing the perspective of an athlete journeying to one of the most remote and unexplored mountain ranges on the planet — the Albanian Alps. The film also witnesses mind-bending pillow lines deep in the Purcell Mountains of British Columbia; urban madness in Kamchatka; the insanity of the Crazy Mountains in Montana; over-the-head cold smoke in the Slovenian Alps; and an 11-year-old rip Jackson Hole. Even more “Far Out” are the alien landscape of Girdwood, Ala., in January; and seeing Sean Jordan ride into Crested Butte on a black stallion to shred the Southern Rockies.

General admission tickets are $12 and will be available at the door.
