Rockport — Businesses from throughout Midcoast Maine were represented April 11 at the annual Business and Community Expo at the Samoset Resort. This marked the 25th year of the event, presented by the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce.

More than 100 businesses and nonprofit organizations were represented at the event, where they distributed promotional materials and engaged visitors with everything from games to contests, and even samples of seafood chowder.

The conference rooms at the Samoset were filled with hundreds of visitors who moved from one booth to another, networking and learning about new organizations in the area. Participating organizations ranged from schools to seafood companies and galleries. This year's event aimed to promote the benefits of doing businesses locally, and admission was free.
