Thomaston — September’s Bless the Children series in Thomaston Public Library’s Friday Night Films series continues Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. in Room 200 of the library, in the historic Thomaston Academy building, 60 Main St./Route 1. Parking, entrance and handicap accessibility are in the rear, off Gleason Street.

On screen will be “Lion” (2016, UK/Australia/USA), a PG-13-rated biographical film that runs 118 minutes. “Lion” is an inspiration and a testament to the vitality of the human condition, a riveting and emotionally shattering look into the complexities of family and the ache of separation. A 5-year-old boy gets lost on the streets of Calcutta, thousands of kilometers from home. Surviving many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia, he sets out to find his family.

Upcoming are: Sept. 22, “Small Change” (1976, France): and Sept. 29, “The King of Masks” (1996, China/Hong Kong).

Friday Night Films are open to the public and free of charge, but donations are gratefully accepted. Light refreshments are served. For more information, call the library at 354-2453.
