Empty Bowl Supper, silent auction Dec. 14

Dec 01, 2017
Art students and teachers create the vessels for Camden Hills Regional High School’s Empty Bowl Supper.

Camden — Camden Hills Regional High School’s Empty Bowl Club will host its annual Empty Bowl Supper and Silent Auction Thursday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Wave Café of the high school, off Route 90.

Pottery/Clay students from the Empty Bowl Club worked to create a batch of handmade ceramic bowls. The community is invited to a simple, but “gourmet” meal of soup (not to mention chowders, stews and chili), bread and water. In exchange for a donation, guests are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls and hunger in the world.

The dinner and auction will benefit local food pantries in the Midcoast area. Donation is $8, $25 for a family of four with two small children. After the dinner, there will be a free winter choral and band concert (a donation of non-perishable food is requested) in the Strom Auditorium starting at 7 p.m.

Snow date for both events is Monday, Dec. 18.
