Rockland — Elizabeth Grace Eaton, 90, died Nov. 5, 2017, at the Knox Center in Rockland.

She was born Dec. 20, 1926, in Belfast, where she lived until retirement; then Libby and Ted moved to Zephyrhills, Fla. Upon the death of her husband, Edgar “Ted” Eaton, she returned to Maine in 1996.

Libby went to school in Belfast and graduated from Crosby High School. She worked at many different jobs over the years, including Grant’s Dairy and Frost & Wilkins as a bookkeeper at both. She was very active with the Girl Scouts of America, BAHS Boosters, PTA, and was a founding member of the Belfast Curling Club. She was a lifelong member of St. Margaret’s Church in Belfast.

Survivors include her three children: Edgar Eaton Jr. and wife Deborah of Northport; Stephen Eaton and wife Deborah of Sumter, S.C., and Stephanie Clapp and husband John of Camden. She has five grandsons: Allen Sanderson, Alan Eaton, Christopher Eaton and wife April and children Gabrielle and Kalab, Dale Eaton and wife Shane, and Theo Eaton and partner Melissa; plus nieces and nephews . She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar F. Eaton, brothers Amos “Sonny” Stephenson, Donald E. Stephenson, Fred Stephenson and sister Thelma Fuller.

The family appreciates the care given to her by Merry Gardens and the Knox Center during her last years. As per her wishes, there will no memorial service and she will be laid to rest at Smart Cemetery in Belfast in the family plot.
