Thomaston — Eileen Beckett, 72, died peacefully, following a period of declining health, Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport.

Born Dec. 4, 1945, in the family home in Thomaston, she was the daughter of Donald and Margaret Benner Beckett.

Educated locally, she was an honor graduate of the first class to graduate from Georges Valley High School. For many years, she worked as a bookkeeper for J.J. Newberry in Rockland and later at the Waterfront Market in Thomaston.

She enjoyed traveling, especially trips in the U.S., Canada and British Isles. She had a keen interest in English and Irish history.

Eileen is survived by her lifetime partner of 56 years, Maxwell E. "Max" Oliver Jr., of Rockland; her sisters, Shirley Stackpole of Hollis, N.H., Laurel Wigglesworth of Thomaston; several nieces, nephews; great-niece sand great-nephews; two aunts, and many cousins.

Visiting hours were held Monday, Nov. 26, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, Rockland, where a celebration of her life was held Tuesday, Nov. 27. The Rev. Wayne Sawyer officiated.
