Appleton — Jean Edwards, a distant cousin of Edna St. Vincent Millay, has released her 13th book, “A Lifetime of Poetry, via indieauthorwarehouse.com and Amazon.

Edwards’ writings include novels, poetry and children’s books. Her three-book Mattie McCracken series describes the adventures of a young Maine sleuth, while another trilogy is based on a fictional Native American family. The stories cover 150 years, from 1640 to the end of the War of Independence.

“A Lifetime of Poetry” includes poetry from Edwards’ novels, as well as a chronological presentation of her other works, from 1940 to the present. As it was with Millay, the sonnet is her favorite form of poetry, and many are interspersed in her novels to assist the storylines. The new 370-page book also contains song lyrics, children’s rhymes and memorials.
