Rockland students graduate from Bowdoin College

BRUNSWICK — During Bowdoin College's 216th Commencement ceremony, held May 29, bachelor of arts degrees were awarded to the Class of 2021, comprising approximately 467 students from 41 states and 21 other countries and territories.

Of these graduates, three local Rockland students were also awarded bachelor's degrees.

Emily Rizkalla Davis graduated with a major in biochemistry and a minor in government and legal studies; Brianna Del Mar White-Ortiz graduated with a dual major in English and theater, and a minor in visual arts; and Lily Andra McVetty graduated with a major in environmental studies-anthropology.

Bowdoin College is a selective college of approximately 1,800 students. Bowdoin offers degrees in more than 40 majors, including interdisciplinary programs.

Flores named to McDaniel College dean's list

WESTMINSTER, Md. — Mark Flores of Rockland was recognized for academic achievement by being named to the McDaniel College Spring 2021 dean's list with Highest Honors.

Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 grade point average.
