Union — Edna F. Blake, 89, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at Woodlands of Rockland.

Edna was born in Knox Sept. 1, 1929, the daughter of Clyde and Delphina (Stimpson) Elkins, both of whom predeceased her.

She left home at an early age, moving to Waterville, and went to work at the Diamond Match factory. She later met and married her husband, John. They lived in Union and built their own home from trees on their land. This is where she devoted her time raising animals. She loved her dogs and horses.

Edna was an avid deer hunter and liked to go fishing. She would often be found with her sister digging fiddleheads and dandelion greens.

She was predeceased by her husband, John L. Blake; and sisters, Mavis and Ruth.

She is survived by her brother, Jerald Elkins, of Searsport; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Knox Ridge Cemetery in Knox, with Pastor Bill Lawrence officiating.

The family would like to thank the folks at Woodlands of Rockland, especially Michelle, and Beacon Hospice as well.

An online guestbook may be signed and memories shared at familyfirstfh.com
