Eagles swoop down to grab wins against Mariners

Jacques tallies lone goal on day for Oceanside pitch squads

The Oceanside soccer teams pushed Lincoln Academy of Newcastle on Thursday, Oct. 15, but it was the Eagles who flew away with high school pitch victories.

The Mariners came out on the short end against LA as the Oceanside boys fell 3-1 in Newcastle and girls 2-0 in Thomaston.

The following is a recap of reported results:


Lincoln Academy 2, Oceanside 0

At Thomaston Oct. 15, the Eagles soared to a shutout win over the host Mariners.

Marley Lebel and Grace Houghton scored in the win for Lincoln Academy.

Abby Waterman made 10 saves in goal for the Mariners, while All Chadwick made three stops for the Eagles.

Lincoln Academy held a 13-7 edge in shots.

Boys soccer

Lincoln Academy 3, Oceanside 1

At Newcastle Oct. 15, the Eagles flew past the visiting Mariners. Lincoln Academy led 2-0 at halftime.

Hayden Jacques netted the lone goal for Oceanside, while Harrison Garcia minded the net for the Mariners.
