Ducks to take the plunge at Duck Derby May 26

Camden — West Bay Rotary’s Duck Derby fundraiser will kick off Saturday, May 26, at 11:30 a.m. and 3,500 rubber ducks will take the plunge over the falls in Camden and swim into Camden Harbor. Each of the 3,500 ducks represents a chance to win one of seven prizes.  Raffle tickets, which correspond with the numbered ducks, are $5 each or $20 for five tickets.

Prizes include seven nights at the Vanderbilt Beach Resort, Naples, Fla. plus $1,000; a one-week stay at Beddington Lake Camp; a 14- karat gold ring set with a cultured pearl; an overnight stay at Lord Camden Inn; a complete car detail; a $200 gift certificate and a $50 gift certificate to 47 West, in Rockport.

Tickets can be purchased from any West Bay Rotarian. Also, every Saturday until race day, rotarians will sell tickets in front of French & Brawn, 1 Elm St., Camden, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and in front of Camden National Bank - Camden Square, 145 Elm St., from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  For the first time, once the race is over and the winners are recorded, ducks will be passed out to children at the event.
