Drug death, sex assault top grand jury indictments

Rockland — The Knox County grand jury issued indictments Tuesday, July 2, against 12 people.

Christopher A. Ray, 38, Lincolnville, Class A gross sexual assault, and Class B gross sexual assault, both Jan. 1  in Owls Head.

Joshua R. Nickerson, 39, Dexter, two counts of aggravated trafficking in fentanyl. The offenses are alleged to have occurred Jan.  5 and Jan. 6, which resulted in the death of Ryan Gamage.

Miranda Paige Wotton Thayer, 28, Dexter, aggravated trafficking in fentanyl Jan. 6, which caused the death of Ryan Gamage.

Jamell Martinez-Lambey, 32, Washington, domestic violence terrorizing and criminal mischief March 10 in Washington.

Charles A. Stone, 47. Tenants Harbor, operating after revocation, improper plates, and violation of a condition of release; theft of a cellphone March 3 in Rockland, violation of a condition of release.

Steven W. Ward Jr., 43, Warren, five counts of felony failure to pay state income tax (2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017), failure to make income tax return.

Jamie Lamont Brown, 30, Maine State Prison, Warren, three counts of felony assault on an officer Aug. 13, 2018, Sept. 10, 2018, and Jan. 18, 2019.

Michael R. Salmons, 31, Quincy, Mass., felony theft Oct. 31, 2018, in Rockland at Oceanside Deli. The charge is a felony because of prior theft convictions.

Nikole K. Powell, 30, Camden, four counts of unlawful possession of drugs (cocaine, methamphetamine, Xanax and lorazepam) Feb. 16 in Rockland.

Bobby B. Parker, 23, Friendship, trafficking in drugs (cocaine) Oct. 1, 2018, in Cushing.

Casey D. Collins, 35, Rockland, three counts of trafficking in drugs (cocaine) April 29, May 1 and May 28 in Rockland; violation of a condition of release; three counts of theft -- June 18, 19, and 20 at Hannaford in Rockland; violation of a condition of release.

Brittany M. Taylor, 37, Rockland, six counts of theft (June 10, 11, 12, 14, 19 and 20) at Hannaford in Rockland; violation of a condition of release; two counts of trafficking in drugs (cocaine) April 29 and June in Rockland.

An indictment is a declaration by a grand jury that there is probable cause to charge someone with a crime.
