Driver charged after head-on crash in Rockland

Rockland — A Warren woman was arrested Jan. 2 after police said she was driving drunk and caused a head-on crash on Maverick Street in Rockland.
Bonnie French, age 48, of Warren, was charged with operating under the influence, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, failing to report an accident and operating after suspension, according to Rockland police.
The crash occurred at about 6 p.m. Jan. 2, when French was driving west on Maverick Street in a Ford-150. She crossed the center line of the road and crashed head-on with a 2013 Fiat that was driving east, according to police.
The white Ford F-150 then fled the scene. However, off duty Rockland Officer Jeff Aeschlimann was able to follow the truck until Detective Anne Griffith located and stopped it.
Both drivers were not injured. Both vehicles were towed because of significant damage.
The Knox County Sheriff's Office assisted Rockland police.

It seem to me that there are a few people who, regularly post negative comments about every article they read! OK, freedom of speech and all, but how about putting all that negative energy into something useful for your community!
If you are looking to cut the budget, you all had better take some time and go through the budget and see all the extra expenses occurred by our city government!
Good Grief!!! All of you slamming the police department, Thank goodness that the OFF DUTY police officer went after this woman!! She could have gone on to kill someone! Losing my mother when I was five months old to a drunken driver, I applaud the police department and will always continue to support law enforcement! Oh, the drunk driver that killed my mother, my father driving drunk!
Ok why are you being negative about the police department? Would you rather the drug k driver hit someone else, maybe you and kled them? Do you three ever say anything positive in your life?
She might have a rap sheet a mile long. It's ok, it will probably be dismissed in court. (sarc)
Yeah, but look at all the sales tax collected off the booze.
Just another reason why our police departments are so expensive.
