Dr. Mark Eggena provides a COVID 19 update Oct. 22

We talked to Dr. Mark Eggena of Pen Bay Medical Center today concerning the recent outbreaks in Waldo County and the Midcoast. While people are still urged to avoid large gatherings and to be sure to practice social distancing and wearing masks, he said the good news is that the schools have done a good job of protecting students and following proper procedures. He urges residents to get their flu shots, and to get tested for COVID if they have symptoms or are contacted by CDC.

If you have a local primary care provider affiliated with Pen Bay Medical Center (PBMC) or Waldo County General Hospital (WCGH), please call them to discuss symptoms and testing.

If you are ill and do not have a primary care provider, call the WCGH Respiratory Health Center directly at 207-505-3040 or the PBMC Acute Respiratory Clinic directly at 207-301-3040.

If you have been advised by Maine CDC to seek testing without symptoms, as part of a contact investigation, please also contact one of our testing clinics directly. If you would like to be scheduled for testing via the Maine state ‘swab and send’ program, please contact the PBMC testing site.
