Dow to seek re-election to District 13 Senate seat

Waldoboro — Senator Dana Dow, a Republican and the current state senator for Senate District 13, has announced that he will seek re-election after serving three non-consecutive terms in the Maine Senate. Dow has also served one prior term in the Maine House of Representatives.

Dow currently serves as chair of the Legislature’s powerful Taxation Committee and as a member of the Insurance and Financial Affairs Committee. He has also served on the Labor, Commerce, Research and Economic Development Committee, the Marine Resources Committee and the Government Oversight Committee.

Dow earned a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Southern Maine in 1973. He is a former schoolteacher and is the owner and president of Dow Furniture, a family business in Waldoboro. He previously served on the Waldoboro Planning Board, the Board of Directors for First National Bank and the Board of Directors for both MSAD 40 in Waldoboro and Region 8 in Rockland.

Dow and his wife, Lisa, reside in Waldoboro and attend the Waldoboro United Methodist Church. Together, they have four children and two grandchildren.
