Dow named to committee on children's mental health

Augusta — State Sen. Dana Dow, R-Waldoboro, who represents District 13,has been appointed to serve on an eleven member commission to study children’s mental health in Maine.

The commission is charged with studying the mental health of children in Maine and particularly federal and state laws, regulations, rules and policies governing the diagnosis and treatment of children with mental health issues in the state.

The commission has until Dec. 4 to submit a report with its findings and recommendations, including suggested legislation, for presentation to the Second Regular Session of the 129th Legislature in January.
